There are many advantages to using a trunk tray in the trunk. The trunk, or cargo area, depending on the type of car, is the part of the car that is most often exposed to sharp objects, heavy goods, dirty garden tools, water, or whatever else you use the trunk for. Without some form of protection, the original upholstery quickly becomes worn and dirty, and in some cases even torn, making it difficult to clean again.

 

If you use a good sturdy trunk tray, you can avoid both shocks and wear, and collect all the dirt in the tray so it's easy to dispose of. A good rubber trunk tray also reduces road noise, which can be quite annoying, especially in vans and commercial vehicles. If you carry damp goods, it could just be empty bottles or something else on a rainy day, the moisture stays in the trunk tray and is easy to wipe off again. Otherwise, the moisture can penetrate your car's upholstery and over time cause both rust and poor indoor climate.
