What type of fixation does my car have?

Normal/Flat Car Roof

Cars where the roof is completely smooth, no rails, points, or similar. Typically seen on smaller passenger cars.

Fix Points

4 points found on the car's roof, two on each side, usually covered by a small plastic cover. Most commonly used on mid-range cars, seen on many different car models.

Flush Roof Rails

Very similar to the classic roof rails, but there is no gap between the rail and the car's roof. Widely used on newer station wagons, including Opel, Ford, Renault.

Standard Roof Rails

The classic roof rails that most people know. A black bar that runs along the car's roof, with approximately 2-3 cm of space to the roof. Most often seen on older station wagon models, vans, and MPVs.

What do I need roof bars for?

The roof bars are designed to meet the need for more luggage space for the family's vacation. Once the roof bars are mounted, they can be used for more than just transporting luggage. It's also possible to store bicycles, skis, luggage bags, and roof boxes, etc.

In addition to transporting the above, it's also possible to transport canoes and kayaks with the purchase of kayak holders separately. Some people find it difficult to drive with a trailer and prefer not to - this is where roof bars come into play. They are quick to mount, and you don't have to worry about any trailer.

The difference between steel and aluminum roof bars

There is a difference between roof bars made of steel or aluminum, but it's very limited. The main difference between roof bars made of steel or aluminum is the dimensions and area of use. Steel tube profiles are usually square-shaped. They are galvanized and plastic-coated, so rust is not an issue, and they are also extremely robust. Aluminum models are oval and have the advantage of being lighter than steel profiles, resulting in lower fuel consumption. Some aluminum models are made in an aero design, which means that wind resistance is very low - as they are designed for the wind to "glide" over the roof bars.
